6.1 Impulse Control is your “pause–reflect–choose” muscle. It’s not about repressing feelings, but learning to surf the urge — to notice impulses, decode what they’re trying to give you, and then choose how to respond. Instead of lashing out, scrolling, eating, buying or shutting down on autopilot, you learn to create space between urge and action so your responses align with your deeper needs and values. You are not broken — you are building capacity for agency and relational safety.
